Diagnostic Imaging

For your convenience, Juneau Bone and Joint Center offers imaging to diagnose orthopedic injuries and conditions. The fully-digital DXA, MRI and X-ray imaging equipment provides patients and doctors with immediate access to the location, nature and scope of a patient’s injury.

DXA Body Composition Analysis

Our DXA scanner provides the versatility to offer bone density testing and full body composition (Measurement of lean and fat-tissue mass, including percentage of fat.) Whether you’re an athlete tracking recovery, on a personal health journey, or looking to stay ahead of age-related conditions like osteoporosis, a DXA scan can provide valuable insight into your bone and body health in minutes.

Digital MRI

A Full Body MRI is a powerful, non-invasive tool designed to screen for abnormalities and provide early detection of a wide range of conditions — all without radiation. Whether you’re proactive about your health, recovering from injury, or managing risk factors, a full body MRI offers clarity and confidence.

Digital X-Rays

A digital X-ray uses a small, but safe amount of radiation to produce an immediate picture of bones to allow for disorder diagnosis. An X-ray imagine can be used on multiple body parts including the neck, back, shoulder, hand, arm, foot, hip, knee, or leg. An X-ray will show broken bones or internal damage. Being digital allows for timely imagines which provide excellent resolution and are better for the environment. Further testing may be needed to assist with the final diagnosis.

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a diagnostic procedure that uses a combination of a strong magnetic field and radio waves to produce detailed images of various soft tissue and bone via specialized software. An MRI image assists with diagnosis of torn ligaments, tumors, fractures, arthritis and herniation or degeneration of discs of the spinal cord.
